
91, of West Palm Beach, joined his wife of 60 years, Virginia, and his son, John,in heaven on January 9, 2012.
Born October 5, 1920 in Hartwell, Georgia, John moved to West Palm Beach in 1938. He joined the military
and served under the ranks of General George S. Patton in the 3rd Army, where he fought for our country in Germany during World War II. Following his return from war, he worked 25 years as a milkman,
primarily for Sealtest and Alfar Dairy. He finished out his career with OK Battery Service, an auto business
he owned for 13 years, and retired from Palm Beach County, where he worked as a dredge operator
and bridge tender.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie and son-in-law Kyle McDonald of Lake Worth, whom he loved like a son.
John also leaves behind his sisters Doris Phillips of Anderson, South Carolina, and Patsy Pilcher, of
Coronado, California, his brother L.T.Brock of Hartwell, Georgia, many nieces, nephews, and extended
family members, whom he cherished deeply, and his estranged daughter, Jeanie Williams. John requested
no funeral or memorial service. Instead, there will be cremation and a party to celebrate his life.
Please join the party at his home on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, Fl., 33407 , would be greatly
appreciated, as they supported John's wished to leave this life from the comfort of his home.
