As several others did, John and I had a wonderful year in Virginia where we lived and labored.  With a love for the Gospel and a gentle way, he had a special gift that enriched those who he lived among, whether young or old, saint or servant.  He also thoroughly loved the people he ministered to, truly considering all of them God's own and of his first concern.  His example was without reproach and the effect of having time with him was peace, it seemed to me.  I will never forget his friendship, faith, humility and honor that was so becoming a servant of God.

We visited John in Fl. soon after his mother's death.  He was so happy to have company and it was truly the highlight of our trip.  His love for others was so evident.  We feel blessed to have those days with him.  Now John can go onto what he lived for, "Eternal peace with God".  Eugene & June Pierson

We are so very sorry about your loss.  But earthly loss is Heaven's gain.  John meant a lot to us when he was here in Virginia.  He was a gentle man, kind and so helpful in the home and in meetings.  Our son, Mark...always wanted "Big John" to come to our house when special mtgs. were here in  the area.  Wish we could have visited him...although we kept in touch while he was in FL. TO THE FAMILY OF JOHN CREWS
WE ENJOYED HAVING JOHN IN OUR HOME AND IN MY PARENTS HOME SEVERAL YEARS AGO.  HE WAS ALWAYS REAL PLEASANT AND VERY HELPFUL TO EVERYONE BOTH IN A NATURAL WAY AND ALSO IN A SPIRITUAL WAY.

We are saddened, yet rejoice at John's passing.  He meant so much to us, and to so many others when he was here in VA.  John was a kind, gentle, and wise man.  And when he spoke of the things of God, we didn't want to miss a word of it.  We're glad for the memories we have of him, and will always remember his life and influence.  Our sympathies to John's family and friends.  You will miss him, as we will.

We are thinking of John this morning.  He meant so much to us when he was here in Virginia.  He often spoke of life, rest, and peace, the flowers of deathless bloom that gives us a glimpse of what heaven will be like.  It was such a pleasure reminiscing with him when he called on the phone a few months ago. We send our sympathy to all of John's family and friends.

To the Crews family I am so sorry to hear that John has passed from this world to the next , I know that it is clea - shay to say that John is in a much better place , but yet in my heart I know that he is! I never knew that John joined the military after school and  served and later on became a pastor and followed the Lord Jesus Christ , what a coincidence that is for me finding out , that I had done the same exact thing that John had done ! As I remember I knew John from the seventh grade to the twelth grade and as I remember he was a very kind and smart young man and always smiling and you always wondered what he was up to ! John will be sorley missed , but one thing we know for sure he is with the father the Lord Jesus Christ ! Amen ! and Amen !

We send sincere sympathy to the family of John Crews.  We appreciated his Godly example and enjoyed having him in our home when he was in Virginia.  Thankful that his bodily suffering has ended and that he has a reward awaiting in Heaven that will never be taken from him.  Jack and Mary Salmon
