Nancy’s calling in life was to be a dedicated public servant. She proudly served as a White Plains Police Officer for 8 years. Nancy loved the White Plains Police Department and the City of White Plains. After leaving White Plains, Nancy joined the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) as a Communications Officer for 14 years. She received numerous awards and commendations including “Communications Officer of the Year” in 2004. Most importantly, Nancy was the ultimate giver of herself to others in need without ever asking for anything in return. Her greatest loves were for her family, friends and pets.
Nancy was predeceased in death by her loving parents, Thomas F. and Elizabeth A. (Betty) Leonard. She is survived by her sister Lorraine Monaco (Charlie) of Yonkers, NY and her brothers Tom Leonard Jr. (Laura) of Ridgefield, CT and Tim (Gayle) Leonard of Ridgefield, CT. She is also survived by her loving nephews and niece, Matthew, Kevin, Jenna and Justin, all of Ridgefield, CT.; a grieving family at PBSO and lastly, her precious yorkie, Angel. The family will receive friends at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett FH, Inc. on Wednesday, January 25th from 2-4 and 5-8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard's Church, White Plains, on Thursday, January 26th at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
