Regino Ramos, also known as “Chiqui”, “Elo”, and “Regi” to family and friends passed away peacefully on August, 28, 2024, at the age of 97 surrounded by family. He was born on January 4, 1927, in Taguasco, Cuba, to Regino Ramos and Cipriana Nunez Ramos. Regino lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication.
After immigrating from Cuba to the United States in 1968, he spent the majority of his life in Florida with his loving wife, Elba Hernandez Ramos. Here they built a beautiful life together in Miami and West Palm Beach. Regino was known for his sense of humor and his kind heart. However, he was most known for his love of cooking. Nothing brought him more joy than seeing friends and family enjoy his food.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Julie Ramos Weicks, and her husband, Wayne. Regino known as “Elo” was the proud grandfather of Lauren Stelly (Drew) and Kelly Benda (Dexter), who will always remember him for his laugh, his smile, his pranks, and his delicious food - specifically ropa vieja and con gris. He was the proud great grandfather of Haley Stelly, Emily Stelly, and his biggest fan Benjamin Stelly. He is also survived by his niece Maria Julia Perez, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Regino's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace.
