

County on October 12, 2013. He was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Rene came to this
country and settled in Brooklyn where he met Sarah, they married six months later,
celebrating 49 years together until she passed away in 2002. He had been employed
with Santini Brothers Moving and Storage, where he served as supervisor. Rene had the
privilege of helping to pack and ship such notable pieces of art such as the Mona Lisa, the statue of
The Thinker and also the Statue of Liberty. He was a member of the Teamster # 814 in New York
and St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach.
His survivors include; his children Danny & Brunie Acevedo, Barbara and Melvin Cortes, 4 grandchildren;
Danielle L & Scott Tessmer, Adam L. Acevedo, Lynnette Cortes, David A Cortes, 2 great grandchildren;
Nicklos S. Tessmer and Dylan C. Tessmer. He also leaves many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews,
and his loving dog Sophie.
His family will receive friends on Monday evening (today) between 6:00 & 8:00 PM, funeral services
will be held on Tuesday, at the funeral home, at 9:30 AM. Rene will be laid to rest with his wife
Sarah immediately following. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
