Robert Hanson of Lake Worth, 76, “Bob” to those who knew him, passed away Saturday February 6, 2013. He was born on July 15, 1936 of Walter and Ruth Hanson. He grew up in Chicago with his brothers Dave and Don (now passed) and sister Marilyn. At 18 he joined the United States Air Force. In the four years he served he was stationed in many places both here and abroad including California, Texas, and Iceland. If you were to ask what he thought of the Air Force he would tell you “It's the only branch to serve in. They have the best food.”
In the late 60s he came to Florida and liked it so much he stayed when he returned in the early 70s. He had numerous jobs but found a career with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 20 years repairing stamp machines before retiring.
Bob was a good man, a loving and patient father, and a wonderful husband. Always quick with a joke and good humor, or ready to regale you with a funny story from his life, there aren't words to fully describe him.
He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Frances, daughter Kimberly, brother Dave and sister Marilyn. A service will be held March 6, 2013 1:30pm at South Florida National Cemetery.
