

Sylvia Wells Wellman, 63 of Atlantis, FL passed away November 24, 2015. She was born in Jefferson, AL on December 23, 1951. Sylvia graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1970 and received her bachelor's degree in Biology from North Carolina Central University and her master's degree in education from University of Phoenix. She had a career in Science, Medical Technology, and Education at Duke University Hospital and for the Palm Beach School District. Sylvia was married to Albert Wellman for 23 years and spent the last 12 years with the love of her life, George Moore. She was a member of the Diamond Girls club, held a certificate in Floral Design from the South Florida School of Floral Design in Lake Worth, FL, and received a certificate or completion from the Wine Academy of Florida International University in the Business of Wine. Sylvia had a passion for education and organization, flowers, champagne, peppermint patties, sweet tea, fried chicken, watermelon, Duke basketball, Alabama football, movies, music, fairies, and her family. She is by survived her 2 children Matthew and Rachel Wellman; grandchildren Raphael and Elia Wellman; sisters Lynn Hall, Rebecca Sanford, and brother Tony Walker. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Memory of Sylvia Wellman or to Trustbridge Hospice, both of which provided monumental support. A Memory service will be on Sunday, Nov. 29th at Dorsey E. Earl Smith Funeral home. Family will receive friends from 1-2:00PM with a chapel service at 2:00PM.
