William Gerald Bartels

Mr. William Gerald (Jerry) Bartels of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was 80 years old. Born in Dayton, OH on August 29, 1940, Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army in the Military Police from 1963 to 1969. He moved to West Palm Beach in 1958, and married Dianne Vogler Bartels on February 3, 1968. Jerry and Dianne resided in West Palm Beach and had two daughters. They were happily married for 32 years until Dianne’s death on February 3, 2000. He retired from the Palm Beach County School District in 2010. Jerry will be greatly missed and remembered for his kind-hearted and humorous personality. He is survived by his daughters, Daqaree Bartels-Gremling, and her husband, Jerry Gremling, of West Palm Beach, FL and Valee Bartels of Fredericksburg, VA. Jerry is also survived by his brother, Robert Bartels, and his wife, Anita Bartels, of Orlando, FL, sister-in-law, Valerie Vogler-Stipe, and her husband, Tucker Stipe, of Austin, TX, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jerry will be interred with his mother, Mary Jane Taylor, and his grandfather, Walter H. Wilson, at Lake Worth Memory Gardens in Lake Worth, FL. Due to continued concerns of COVID-19, no public visitation or service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to Trustbridge/Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, FL.
