Wilma F. Taylor, 92, was born in Whitley City, Kentucky, on October 31, 1933, and passed away on March 3, 2026. Wilma was adventurous, cherished, hard-working, humorous, kind-hearted, and wise, and she will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew her.
Wilma graduated high school on May 20, 1947. She began working early, recording in her diary that her first job was on January 7, 1948, at Mrs. Hughes restaurant making sandwiches, and that she had to be Registered Labor Union, RHAE. Her career reflected steady dedication and capability: she worked for WPTV Channel 5 NBC as Director of Computer Services, served as a Credit Manager Card Dealer at PB Kennel Club, and also worked with Top Shelf Printing. Wilma held roles including Treasurer/Controller at Gold Coast Dining, became a Notary Republic, and was a Member of P.A.P Loyal Order of Moose WPB 1461, along with many more accomplishments and rewards. In retirement, she was known for “walking Weirdo” while riding her cart to visit with loving neighbors—and, on occasion, having a shot of FIREBALL. She also treasured her long conversations with Kathy Kovacs, talking at least two hours at a time; if it wasn’t exactly two hours, Wilma would call back to make sure they finished the last ten minutes.
Wilma’s life included enduring relationships and family love. She married Robert Collins and had one child, Robert D. Collins (BC), born in 1954 and passing in 2020; she later divorced Robert Collins. She married Ronald Taylor, and though they had no children, they were together until his death. Her last life partner was Pedro Cinterian (Poppy). Close surviving family includes Joey & Kathy Kovacs, Nick Kovacs, Frances Slaven, Dee & Jeff Bryant, Dennis Bryant, Kathie Schroder, and many more, as well as Annelle Shook ( "Nellie", "Mommy") & Pebbles.
A spirited and competitive presence, Wilma enjoyed poker, karaoke, rummikub (with Nellie and loving friends at Annelle Shook Chalet), rollerskating, and Yahtzee. She loved all animals. She performed in a play, “MASH,” as HOT LIPS for Channel 5 WPTV and received an award for Best Performing Actor. Wilma was also proudly memorable for being married to Ron Taylor in a rollerskating rink—an event that made the local newspaper in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was loving and caring to everyone she met, family, friends and all animals, she collected turtles for years and Lady Bugs. B.C. called her LUCKY LADY BUG, she was also called "SONG BIRD" for many years by everyone that knew her when she sang in the band "Preludes" and of course "HOT LIPS".
Wilma attended WPB Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Buser Sr.
