February 25, 1928 – January 4, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Albert Martinez, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, husband, and friend, who left us peacefully at the age of 96 in his hometown of Colorado.
Born on February 25, 1928, Albert’s life was a testament to resilience, humor, and a love of adventure. As a young man, he served in the Army during World War II, an experience he considered one of the proudest of his life. His time in service left a lasting imprint on him, filling him with a sense of pride that he carried throughout his journey. A man who lived with dignity, Albert’s strength and humor carried him through life’s challenges, leaving a legacy of laughter and warmth for all who knew him.
Albert’s joy for life was evident in everything he did. Whether it was fishing by the lake, camping under the stars, or dancing to his favorite tunes, he made sure to embrace each day with enthusiasm. Music was a constant companion, and his love for it brought many moments of happiness to those around him.
He was a deeply spiritual man, finding solace in prayer and always offering love and support to his family and friends. His unwavering faith and compassion for others were cornerstones of his life, and his kindness will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Albert’s family was his greatest pride. He leaves behind his four children from his first marriage—daughters Kathy Rocha, Loretta Martinez, Paulette Madrid, and son Randy Martinez—and his loving wife, Ruby Martinez, along with their children Michael Martinez, Albert John Martinez Jr., Lisa Filippi, and Christopher Martinez. He also leaves a rich legacy in his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Albert’s heart was full of love, and his humor will be forever cherished by his family. He may have left this world, but the memory of his laughter, his love, and his strength will live on in all who were fortunate to know him.
Rest in peace, Albert. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation, funeral mass, and reception for Albert will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 W 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003.
