Avis de décès de Ann Morton

Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Runyan-Stevenson

Elizabeth Ann Morton was born as a beloved daughter to Henry Stuart and Elizabeth Morton in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1937. She was always known as Ann. She attended Auburn University where she earned her bachelor’s degree and became a longtime medical technologist.

After a time Ann moved to Houston, Texas to gain her own footing in the world. Houston was perfect for her because she still had her southern mannerisms, but it was a little more laid back than the deep south.

In her travels, Ann found Colorado where she vacationed every so often. Being an animal and nature lover, Ann fell in love with Colorado's vast natural vacation spots and the State's love of animals, and decided to make the move to Lakewood, Colorado. She began a long time career at Mercy Hospital, eventually transitioning as an Instructor of Hematology at the Medical Technology program at the University of Colorado.

When not at the hospital Ann could be found exploring Colorado's Natural parks and other nature related spots with her wife, Lynne, and their one, or two, or sometimes three dogs in tow. She loved birding, hiking, and really spending time with Lynne and their fur babies. They built a one room rustic cabin outside of Idaho Springs where they spent a lot of time together. Ann really loved that cabin known as the "Iron Hat".

After a brief illness, Ann passed away on February 13th at the age of 85, leaving behind her wife of 46 years, Lynne Powell; and many friends. She will be deeply missed for her tenacity, loyalty, and friendship. In memory of Ann please make a donation in her name to one of her favorite charities: The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO or The Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Longmont, CO.

A gathering will be held later.
