Annette Marie Bradley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on May 21, 1947, in Evanston, Illinois, to Bradford and Ellen Sershon. She was raised with her two sisters, Suzanne (Legatzke) and Francis (Ward), in a family grounded in faith and love.
Annette attended St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. After college, she worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines, a role that allowed her to travel the world and introduced her to her devoted husband, Robert James “Bob” Bradley Jr., whom she met on a flight from Buffalo to Washington, D.C.
Together, Annette and Bob built a life centered on family, travel, deep friendships, and community. Annette was a devoted mother to her four children: Katherine; Matthew (Lacy); Margaret (Douglas Taylor); and Thomas (Elizabeth). She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, listed in order of age: Grace, Kathryn, Evelyn, Juliet, Cora, Robert, Wilbanks, and Theodore, each of whom brought her great joy.
For five years as they raised their own young family, they owned and operated the Bailiwick Inn, a country inn with a fine dining restaurant in Fairfax, Virginia, where Annette’s warmth and hospitality made every guest feel at home. In 2006, Annette and Bob moved to Colorado, where they embraced an active life filled with hiking, skiing, time with their grandchildren, and deep involvement in their church, the Rotary Club of Evergreen, and so many other wonderful causes.
Annette’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She lived her faith not only through prayer, but through action. She was a Eucharistic minister for nearly her entire adult life at every parish she belonged to across Virginia, Florida, and Colorado, including the past eighteen years at Christ the King in Evergreen. In addition, she volunteered with Life Care, visiting the sick and homebound, bringing prayer, comfort, and the Eucharist. Through this ministry, she offered peace and the assurance of Christ’s love to countless individuals and families.
She will be remembered for the joy she brought to everyone she met and for teaching her family by both word and example the importance of positivity, kindness, faith in Christ, and the belief that when one strives to be a good person, everything unfolds according to God’s plan.
Annette passed away on January 8th, 2026 at the age of 78.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 30th at Mother Cabrini Shrine Chapel, at 10AM. A Celebration of Life will follow the Mass.
