Bradley Scott Arthur Matousek (Brad) passed away at age 54 on February 9, 2013. He was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota on August 1, 1958 to Marilyn Ellingson Matousek and Rudolph Matousek. Brad was the youngest of five children, Deborah, Steven, Craig, and Wayne. Brad grew up in and around Madison, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, Brad became a bartender by trade, working in his parents’ restaurant/bar, the Lamp in Fort Atkinson. Brad’s Mom and Dad, Sister Debbie and nephew Hamish moved to Wheat Ridge, Colorado in 1978. Brad joined them in 1979. He continued to work as a bartender at the Ramada Inn in Wheat Ridge and later began at Jefferson 440 in Lakewood, where he met his wife, Jackie Satterfield. They married in 1981 and Brad became stepfather to David. Jackie and Brad also had two children together, Shawna and Zachary. After the children were born, Brad left bartending to co-run a cleaning service with his wife. He later started All-City Hauling Unlimited, which was a successful small trash hauling service for many years.
Bradley came from a musical family and he loved to sing and play percussion. He was a great dancer! He loved camping in the Colorado mountains with his family, bowling on league with his friends, playing golf, and cards (poker, pinochle and canasta). One of his most favorite pastimes was watching sports; he loved his Denver teams, especially the Broncos.
Brad lived in Littleton, Colorado with his wife until his death. Having spent almost 34 years here, he considered himself a native.
Brad is survived by his wife, Jackie, son David, daughter-in-law Nhu, daughter Shawna, son-in-law Clint, son Zach, and grandsons Ryan and Ethan, his mother Marilyn, his brother’s Craig and Wayne, nephew Hamish, his Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Charlie, cousins Char and Arnie and their family, brothers and sisters in-law Pat and Debbie Satterfield, Dan and Sharon Satterfield, Bob and Bonnie Van Duyne, their families, and numerous other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
His brother Steven, dad Rudolph and sister Debbie preceded him in death. Brad was an organ donor. It is a great comfort to his family that his heart beats on in another person, who needed a new one to survive. He also donated his kidneys, liver and other organs to other needy recipients.
Brad is truly loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. God rest his soul and grant him eternal peace.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on March 16, 2013 a 2:00 pm at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery at 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheatridge, CO 80033 in the pavilion adjacent to the Main building. A reception will follow at the Crown Hill Reception Center. Brad will be inurned at Olinger Crown Hill in the late spring of 2013.
