Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor, age 99, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Elizabeth was born in Wilkes Barre, PA. She was a school teacher for over 30 years, Creighton Middle School being her longest and last teaching post.

Elizabeth was a world traveler, staying in hostels well into her 70's all over Europe; climbing the Great Wall of China, and taking over 15 cruises in her later years. She belonged to the Colorado Mountain Club, leading senior hikes all over Colorado.

She is survived by her sons, Tom (Carol) and Jerry (Susan); grandchildren, Kelly, Jason, Jeremy, Justin, Christopher, Conor, Rebecca, Chelsea, and Josephine; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild; daughter in law, Chad; as well as, many extended family members and friends. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ron; and sister, Violet.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Runyan-Stevenson, 6425 West Alameda Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM also at Advantage Runyan Stevenson. Elizabeth will be laid to rest during a committal service on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 12:30 PM to at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 7777 West 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A reception will follow from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Advantage Runyan Stevenson.
