Gabriel Joseph Caballero

Gabriel Joseph Caballero (known by many as Joe), 55, passed away late in the evening on May 12, 2023. Born on October 16, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, Joe lived a vibrant life touching the lives of many people along the way.

Joe grew up in Denver and was a source of great help to his mom and siblings. Joe learned to cook his spectacular meals from his mom, whom he would accompany to the grocery store, choose fresh veggies, and go home to make the meals.

Upon graduating from high school, Joe was accepted to University of Northern Colorado where he decided to major in chemistry. While there, he was coaching gymnastics and met his future wife with whom he had two beautiful children. Joe’s pride and joy were Joey and Abby. His world revolved around them. How deep was his love for his children. And now he was to experience grandfather-hood.

He transferred to Colorado State University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry.

Joe loved the research and development aspect of chemistry. He had many patents in his name and started a business based upon one of the patents. He was brilliant, researching answers to questions via college libraries. He could be found in law libraries gathering info for specific grants or researching the law concerning the business start-ups he was involved in. Joe’s latest business venture was his Colorado Mountain Creams: each cream named after those closest in his life.

Joe was employed by Elite Health Partners working in the research and development part of their business.

He loved the outdoors and sharing his passion for the activities of snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, climbing, etc.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Caballero, his daughter, Abbigail Caballero, his siblings Mary Caballero, Anthony Caballero, Lizette Caballero, and Chris Caballero, his father Gabriel Caballero, his Great Aunt Kathy, and many aunts and uncles and cousins in Colorado, Texas, and Florida.

A Service will be held at Advantage Runyan-Stevenson funeral home on Friday, October 27, 2023, 2:00pm-4:00pm.
