John Allan Titterington, Sr., was born on October 17, 1945 in Schenectady, New York, to his parents, Martha & Walter Titterington.
John, our husband, father, brother, and friend, shared a GREAT childhood with his brother, Walter, and his sister, Robin. His childhood was full of playing sports as well as getting into a great deal of mischief. John met and married his high school sweetheart, Sally Jean Burke, and had three children, John, Jr., Trayce, and Jay.
While driving across the country to California, John’s and Sally’s car broke down in “Colorful” Colorado, where they decided to make their home. Tragically, John Sr., John Jr., Trayce, and Jay lost their beloved wife and mother at the age of 41. Following this devastating loss, John Sr. opened the next chapter of his life when he met and married Ana. John and Ana then had a daughter, Victoria, who brought great joy into their lives.
Everyone can agree that John lived life to the fullest! He loved his family, friends, playing golf with his brother, Walter, swimming, Budweiser, Coca Cola, and he NEVER missed a dessert! He loved living in Parker, Colorado, enjoyed working from his home office, drinking his coffee, and watching the deer outside his windows. He NEVER missed a chance to see his children or grandchildren play hockey, soccer, football, baseball, karate, or basketball.
Though he was small in stature, he was MIGHTY in all he did. He was at the top of his field as an insurance agent, annuity agent, and business owner. He took great pride that he NEVER had a client lose a nickel. His colleagues affectionately called him “The Guru.”
As mentioned before, John LOVED sports – watching them, playing them, talking about them, and especially attending the “big” events! He attended Super Bowls, Final Fours, NBA Championships, World Series, etc. When John was a young boy, Wilt Chamberlain, a member of the Harlem Globetrotters, actually rubbed John’s head and said “Hello, little man”. When John got home from this event, John asked his mother, Martha, to not wash his hair!
John is survived by his wife, Ana; sons – John and Jay; daughters – Trayce and Victoria; his brother - Walter and sister-in-law, Nora; grandchildren – Justin, Bryce, Blake, Casey, Mattie, Jack and James; great grandson, Cooper; nieces – Jennifer and Kelly and their families. Sadly, John lost his sister, Robin a number of years ago.
John spent the final two years of his life in the Yucatan Peninsula, playing golf and swimming in the ocean. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we could not be with John at the time of his passing. Thus, we gather here today to celebrate his EXTRAORDINARY life!
John LOVED all of you and will live in our hearts FOREVER!!!
THANK YOU FOR BEING WITH US TODAY!!!!
