Kathleen Marie Kiolbasa

Kathleen Marie Joyce was born on September 9, 1935 in Hastings, Nebraska and returned to be with God on March 10, 2021. Raised by her widowed mother, she spoke fondly of her childhood on the farm with her three siblings. She attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Omaha, where she excelled at tennis. After high school, Kathleen worked at the telephone company. She married the love of her life, Chester Kiolbasa, on June 27, 1959. Chet and Kathy relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1962 and resided in Lakewood for many years where she continued to enjoy playing tennis, playing bridge with neighbors, playing the piano, taking art classes, and dancing. She knew every lyric to every song of her era and often commented on what a wonderful life she had.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Chester, and daughter, Kellie Solawetz (Steve). Kathleen is survived by daughter, Karen Taylor (Kent), son, David Kiolbasa, and six grandchildren, Breanne Oliver (Nick), Sean Taylor (Libby), and Connor, Luke, Rachel, and Kyle Solawetz.

Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 9405 W Florida Ave, Lakewood, Colorado 80232.
