

Leslie Ann Atwater, 65, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Leslie's life was a testament to love, generosity, and kindness. She will be remembered for her warm heart, welcoming spirit, and the boundless care she showed to everyone around her.
Born on January 20, 1958, to Kay Challis and Derek Brislane, Leslie was fiercely dedicated to her family. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and pet owner, especially to her two beloved dogs, Copper and Cookie. Leslie’s love for her family was matched only by her devotion to creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness.
A passionate and skilled culinary expert, Leslie spent much of her life in hospitality. From coordinating events as a deli specialist at King Soopers to overseeing meals at her church, Leslie's passion for serving others was evident in everything she did. Whether hosting holiday celebrations, BBQs, or simply preparing meals for family and friends, Leslie had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her legendary habit of preparing extra food to share with guests was a testament to her generous spirit.
Leslie’s career in the food industry spanned several decades, during which she held positions at King Soopers, Dykstra Sales and Food Products, and worked as a Manufacturer Representative for Aspen Baking and Mauer Brothers Bakery. She was highly respected in her field, known for her expertise, hard work, and exceptional success in every role she took on.
For 21 wonderful years, Leslie shared a loving and fulfilling marriage with her husband, Mark. Together, they raised a beautiful family and built a home rooted in love, laughter, and compassion. Leslie is survived by her sons Kyle and Chris, daughter Celine, stepson Tim, stepdaughter Jess, and her cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Lori, brother Paul, and stepmother Marcia. Leslie was preceded in death by her mother Kay and father Derek.
Leslie’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a celebration of life on January 24th, at 10:30 AM, at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Arvada. A reception will follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Leslie’s memory to Safe Harbor Lab Rescue or Golden Retriever Rescue, organizations that were close to her heart.
Leslie’s life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless kindness, and a deep commitment to those she loved. In remembering her, we honor a life beautifully lived—one that continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory forever bring comfort and strength to those she touched.
