Margaret Elaine Elaine Turner McCauley

Margaret "Elaine" Lunsford McCauley went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at St Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO, due to complications of heart problems. She was 88 years old and resided in Lakewood, CO at the time of her death. Elaine was born October 4, 1924 in Dayton, Washington to Lloyd Turner and Margaret Burnell Turner. She was the oldest of five children. Her siblings were Nadine Startin, Kae Land, Chuck Turner, and George Turner. She Grew up on a farm, and rode a horse to school when she was a child. She attended Dayton High School in Dayton, Washington, and went to the prom her Senior year with Kenneth McCauley, her current Spouse. She was also the fourth attendant to the May Queen her Senior year. Following High School, Elaine attended the Beauty College in Dayton and remained in the Cosmetology business for 3 years.

Her first marriage was to Keith Lunsford, who she met in Washington during World War II while he was a Trainer Pilot and 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp. They had 7 children, Steve Lunsford, Michael Lunsford, Vicki Parks, Gaile Taylor, Leigh Slaughter, Evan Lunsford, and "Margaret" Louise Hartvigson. Elaine and Keith lived in various places including Casper, WY, Golden, CO, Oklahoma City, OK, and Lakewood, CO. Keith passed away December 10, 1996. Two years later, after meeting at a 50th High School reunion in Dayton, WA, Elaine married Kenneth McCauley, her former High School sweetheart. Elaine's various hobbies included the Denver Broncos, Cooking, Cake Decorating, Sewing, Crocheting and Gardening. Elaine had a witty sense of humor, and she was very detail oriented, always striving to keep her home beautiful for various family events and holidays.

Survived By: Her spouse, Kenneth McCauley of Lakewood, CO; 6 children; Steve (Shannon) Lunsford of Casper, WY; Vicki Parks of Lakewood, CO; Gaile Taylor of Castle Rock, CO; Leigh (Mike) Slaughter of Morrison, CO; Evan (Celice) Lunsford of Lakewood, CO; Louise (Scott) Hartvigson of Idledale, CO; 15 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 2 more Great Grandsons on the way; Brother Chuck (Nancy) Turner, and Brother-In-Law Ken Land all of Dayton, WA; Several Cousins and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
