Michael Wayne Forst passed away on Tuesday, October 17th at his home in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born in Denver on August 2, 1957 to Patricia Danhauer and lived in the metro area for his entire life. He developed a mechanical affinity at an early age and spent much of his free time working on, and driving off-road vehicles.
Mike was an avid fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors as well as spending time developing his talents for woodworking. As a weekend warrior for many years, he could often be found camping along the shores of Williams Fork Reservoir or Lake Granby with his wife Dawn and daughter Christina. Mike was most recently employed at Pets on Broadway as a kennel manager, an ideal position that fostered his connection to animals, especially dogs.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his mother, sisters, nieces and nephews, as well as friends and extended family.
The family will have a gathering at a later date. Donations can be made in his name to Jefferson Center for Mental Health at https://www.jcmh.org/
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.advantagerunyan-stevenson.com for the Forst family.
