

Bob is survived by his mother, Mildred Ewing, wife, Lena Ewing, sons Aaron and Jacob Ewing, and daughter-in-law, Randi Ewing. He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Ewing of Edgewater, Colorado.
Bob was born on September, 2nd 1947 in Pueblo, Colorado to Delbert and Mildred Ewing. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. Bob attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas where he met Lena in 1965. Bob and Lena transferred to the University of Colorado in 1967. The couple was married in 1968 in Stafford, Kansas.
Prior to establishing his own business, Ewing Diesel in 1970, Bob worked as a millwright. Self-driven and self-taught, Bob was a talented diesel mechanic with a strong work ethic. He joined his father Delbert and established his own trucking company in 1972. Bob continued to operate Ewing Diesel and Ewing Transport, moving the businesses to Limon, Colorado in 1974. Bob and Lena welcomed their first son, Aaron in Hugo, Colorado in 1983. Following the death of Delbert in early 1984, Bob moved the family back to Denver, Colorado and assumed ownership and operation of his father’s trucking company, Texas Intermountain Transportation (TIMT). Later that year, Bob and Lena welcomed their second son, Jacob.
Bob continued working within the transportation industry for the remainder of his life, repairing, operating, and owning trucks for over 46 years. He was revered as an expert mechanic by his peers and deeply respected for his work ethic within his industry. Bob enjoyed networking and connecting people. He leaves behind many friendships and a long relationship with High Plains Trucking. In addition to his competence in his work, Bob took the most satisfaction and pride in his role as a father to Aaron and Jacob. He was not shy to proudly comment and share the most recent successes of his sons with friends and family. Bob was looking forward to welcoming his first grandchild later this year and would have been have been an amazing grandfather.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, September 9th, 2016 at 10:00 am at Runyan Stevenson Chapel in Lakewood, Colorado. Memories will be shared and a lunch reception will follow.
