Born in Point Pleasant, he resided in Lakewood for most of his life before moving to Bayville.
Before he was injured, he worked as a boat mechanic for Good Luck Point Marina in Ocean Gate, a job that he loved.
Growing up, Austin was very close with his father and was given the nickname "Shroodle Noodle". To the children in the neighborhood, he became "Little A." He loved dirt bike riding, boating, fishing, but most of all, spending time with the people he loved - especially his nieces and nephews. Austin was a loving brother and son with a big heart, something he always showed.
He was predeceased by his father, Briant, in 1992.
Surviving is his mother, Eileen; 3 brothers: Briant and his wife Nicole, Raymond, and John; and nieces and nephews: Sammual, Kimberly, Kristina, and Joey.
