

Billy S. Tyler was born June 17, 1942 to the union of the late Herman A. Tyler and Annis Dawes Tyler in the town of Oxford North Carolina. He was born into a family of 8 siblings consisting of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Of which 7 of his siblings preceded him in death. (William Kearney, Herman Tyler, Lee McCoy Tyler, Douglas Tyler, Diane Taylor, Jean Glover & Kermit Tyler) During the evening hours of Friday, May 6, 2022, he entered eternal rest at Kimball Medical Center located in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Billy's education and work history began in the Granville County public school system. Upon graduation from high school, Billy migrated to Brooklyn New York, where he was employed by the New York City Transit Authority for over 25 years as a bus Operator at the Ulmer Park depot in Coney Island. After retiring from the MTA, Billy also worked for New Jersey Transit as a bus Operator for 16 years in the Howell Township garage. Over the course of his career, Billy received many awards and accolades for his safe driving. Upon officially retiring from bus driving, Billy enjoyed socializing with old friends and fishing.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Annie H. Tyler on Dec 25, 1965. Out of this union came two children, Darryl B. Tyler & Michael A. Tyler both of Lakewood N.J and Peggy Moore of Hampton Virginia. Billy was affectionately known within the family as "Poe - Bill", he was pivotal figure in keeping the Tyler family united. His home was always open to his Brothers & Sisters and was frequently a place of gathering during the summer months for weekly family barbeques. Billy was always there for his family even down to his youngest Nephew "Old-Jobs" where he would pick him up every morning and drive him to school. Whenever he had time off from work Billy would quite often travel back to Oxford N.C to
Visit his Parents and siblings that remained in the area. His smile would say it all, and if you knew him well he had a great since of humor.
Billy leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his Wife Annie H. Tyler, Two Son's Daryl B. Tyler, Michael A. Tyler and his Daughter Peggy Moore. A sister and last surviving sibling Audrey Tyler, his 7 grandchildren Darryl Morris, Wesley Outley, Tilsha Tyler, Christopher Tyler, A'maijah Tyler, Ebony Moore, Joseph Moore. 3 sister in law's: Annie Tyler of Hempstead, New York, Mamie Tyler of Oxford, North Carolina, Eardine Kearney of Laurelton, New York and 1 Brother in law Robert Taylor Sr., and a host of Great grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews.
