Bruno Francis Masini, 87, died on November 10, 2018 surrounded by his family. Bruno was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, graduated from Brooklyn Preparatory School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He moved to Staten Island in 1963 where he lived for over 40 years before moving with his wife, Elizabeth (Betty), to the Leisure Knoll community in Manchester N.J. where he was active in the Knights of Columbus. Bruno was known for his generosity, his sense of humor and enormous gift for friendship. He loved music and was a wonderful dancer. He liked to draw, to bowl, to take photographs, but his great and abiding joy was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a beloved uncle and dear friend who touched and helped many.
Bruno is predeceased by his parents, Mauro and Lillian Masini, his brother, Hugo Masini, his sister, Gloria Occhiogrosso and his beloved daughter, Karen Weinstein.
Bruno is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Betty, his children, Donna Masini, Gregg Masini and his wife, Michal, David Masini and his husband, Isaac Rodriguez, son-in-law, Paul Weinstein, by three cherished grandchildren, Mallory Kusterer, David and Ethan Masini, by Ryan and Jacob Kusterer, the great-grandchildren he adored, and by his sister Diana Occhiogrosso.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4-8PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10AM, at St. Johns RC Church, Lakehurst, NJ. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
