Born in Newark, she resided in Florida before settling in Brick 9 years ago.
Catherine retired from the Prudential Insurance Company in Newark after 20 years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Peterson’s Riviera in Brick. Catherine was a member of the New Jersey Club in her retirement village in Florida. She was proud to turn 100 years of age and recently received her acknowledgement letter from the President and his wife.
She was predeceased by her son, Clinton Ellis in August 1963.
Surviving is a niece, Peggy Betz-Cadigan, and her husband Dennis Cadigan; a nephew, Jack Betz, and his wife Linda; 4 grand-nieces: Rebecca Whitley, Erin Cadigan, Jennifer Betz, and Katy Betz; 4 grand-nephews: Jason Betz, Kerry Betz, Robert Byrne, and Peter Hengel; 4 great grand-nieces; 2 great grand-nephews; and many other family members and numerous friends.
A private cremation was conducted under the direction of D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood.
