Cecelia C. Gross

Cecelia C. Gross, age 93, of Pittsburgh, PA and formerly of Lakewood, NJ, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in New York, NY on January 10, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Olinda (Casale) Ciani. She was raised on Staten Island and was the 3rd eldest of 9 children. Cecelia graduated from Curtis High School and was employed for 20 years as an Executive Secretary in the Shipping Industry. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Emil C. Gross. Cecelia is survived by a son Richard and his wife Claudia. She was the proud grandmother of Alexa and Julia, and she is also survived by two sisters, Lena DiGregorio and Helen LaFiura; as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of The Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
