Dennis A. Parliament

Dennis A. Parliament, 74, passed away January 2, 2018 at his home in Howell. Mr. Parliament was born in Newark, raised in Union before moving to Vermont for many years and finally settling in Howell for the past 40 years. He was the New Jersey State Champion for Wrestling and Football at Union High School. Dennis held various jobs throughout his life but his true passion was working with Standardbred Race Horses. He was an avid fisherman but his true love was spending time with his beloved Granddaughter, April. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Parliament is predeceased by his parents Harold and Stephanie and a brother, Ronald Parliament. Dennis is survived by his favorite wife of 37 years, Ellen, daughter JoAnne Callas and her husband Harry, granddaughter April, sister, Judith Englebrecht, daughter, Kimberly Parliament, grandchildren, Ian, Stephanie, Christopher and James, four great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 2-5PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 5PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Dennis’ memory to the VNA Hospice Foundation.
