Dolores Ida Applegate

Our mother was born at home on Atlantic Avenue in Manasquan. She attended three schools which included a one room school on Sea Girt Avenue, another school in Allenwood and graduated from Manasquan High. Mom became a member of Manasquan Monthly Meeting when she was 12.

She met Charles Applegate at the Meeting and they married in June 1947. Mom eventually became a mother of two daughters, Susan Perkins and Emily Amberger, grandmother of 6, great grandmother of 8 and great-great grandmother of 9. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She had several interests, including the Friendly Fair, jigsaw puzzles, square dancing, Daughters of the American Revolution, New England Women, and genealogy.

Relatives and friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, N.J.
