

Born and raised in Brooklyn where he played alto sax in a 17 piece band at local venues. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he later married Marie who he had met at a local dance. They raised their children in Staten Island where he began a new career with the New York Telephone Company. During his retirement they traveled extensively and later settled in the Harrogate Life Care Community in Lakewood where he enjoyed bocce, shuffleboard and dancing.
John was predeceased by his siblings, Raymond, Mary, and Helen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie and their children Carol King and her husband Robert of Texas and John and his wife Marie of Arizona. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Nicole Bane (Jonathan), Julie Naef (Tyler), Steven, and Patrice and great-grandchildren Emma, Kayla, and Maverick.
A visitation for John will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 27, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755. A committal service will occur Monday, January 27, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
