

Edward DiGangi, 77, passed away December 10, 2011 at his home in Lakewood surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. DiGangi was born in Manhattan, lived in State Island for 38 years, and settled in Lakewood and Margate, FL as a snowbird for the last 10 years. He served in the US Army overseas in France from 1957 to 1959. Edward attended the New York School for Printing. He is retired from the New York City Department of Sanitation. Mr. DiGangi was a member of the Elks Lodge #1898 in Margate, FL. Edward enjoyed playing the lotto, gardening, making his famous tomato sauce, going to Atlantic City, Crabbing, playing pinochle, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors: Mr. DiGangi is survived by his childhood sweetheart of 56 years Antonia, three children, Edward Jr. and his wife Patricia, John, and Antonia Mullin and her husband James, six grandchildren, James D., Jonathan, Melissa, Edward, Briana, and Megan, and great grandson, Steven.
Services: Friends may call Monday, December 12, 2011 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the St. Dominic’s Church 10AM in Brick. Entombment will take place at Cloverleaf Mausoleum, in Woodbridge.
