Elaine C. Coddington Jemison

She was born in Hyde Park, NY on February 22, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Isabelle and Ernest Coddington.  Elaine was a longtime resident of Toms River, NJ and also maintained a home in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. Elaine was a professional beautician, but she had also alongside her late husband owned and operated the Dover Diner for many years.  She was a former 4H leader and loved gardening.

Wife of the late Andrew J. Jemison who passed in 1975; she is survived by her children, Andrew J. Jemison, Jr. and his wife Patricia; Lynn J. Coddington & her husband Phillip J. , Sr.; her grandchildren, Eileen Sochacki, Tara Jemison, and Phillip J. Coddington, Jr.  Elaine was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew J. Jemison, III; a brother, Howard Coddington; and a sister Evelyn Coddington Maisch.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701.  Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
