Erwin “Herb” Jensen, 89, passed away March 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at home in Lakewood. Mr. Jensen was born in Germany, moving to New York when he was 4 before settling in Lakewood for the past 25 years. He served in the US Army during World War II. Herb worked for the New York City MTA as a subway conductor for many years. Mr. Jensen was a member of the Lake Ridge Bowling League and enjoyed model building and was known for being artistic, crafty and meticulous. He was a loving husband, father a nd grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Jensen is predeceased by his parents, Paula and John Jensen. Herb is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie, daughter, Linda Jensen and grandchildren, Kristen Germano, Jonathan Germano and Brent Germano. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 11am-12 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ.
