

Herbert Kuschuk, 87, of Toms River, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from an illness. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Janet Kuschuk, his parents, Rose & Irving Kuschuk and his sister, Claire Weiss.
Herbert is survived by his daughters: Ilene Murphy of Crofton, MD and her husband, Thomas Murphy, and Sandra Kuschuk of Freehold, NJ. Herbert’s two granddaughters, Rebecca and Nicole Murphy, also reside in Crofton. Herbert is also survived by his brother, Gerald Kuschuk, of Livingston, NJ.
Herbert was a 1958 Graduate from Rutgers University where he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering.
Born in Brooklyn, NY and relocating to Englishtown, NJ with his family as a young man, Herbert helped his father purchase and manage the first of a series of local farms on their way to establishing I. Kuschuk Poultry Farms, distributing eggs to local supermarkets and restaurants. After marrying Janet, they built their family home in Freehold remaining there until 1996 when they moved to Toms River to enjoy retirement life.
In addition to working for such companies as Lily Tulip Corporation and Ethicon, Inc, Herbert was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses of his own over the years including two laundromats in Monmouth County.
He loved adventure and spent many happy times traveling around the country with his wife. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man and taught his children to ”always be prepared”. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and could fix/build just about anything.
He will be missed by many and his memory will live on through his family whom he loved dearly.
