

James Woodrow “Woodie” Dunlop, 87, of Lakewood, passed away Tuesday August 27, 2013, at the Harrogate Healthcare Center in Lakewood, NJ. He was born on April 25, 1926 in Glen Cove, NY, and was the son of the late Annie and Henry Dunlop.
Woodie was a former resident of Locust Valley NY, County Antrim Ireland, Brooklyn NY, Teaneck NJ, and Leisure Village West in Manchester NJ, before moving to Harrogate three years ago. He was a US Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Woodie served as a Vice President of the Brooklyn Union Gas Company before retiring in 1988 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Classon Avenue Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, The Community Church of Teaneck, and the Presbyterian Church of Toms River. He served as an Elder in each church.
Woodie was predeceased by his brother Henry H Dunlop. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred Whiteman Dunlop; three children, Susan Dunlop Carone and her husband James, Richard Woodrow Dunlop and his wife Rebecca, and James Henry Dunlop; five grandchildren, James Carone and his wife Stacy, Elizabeth Carone, Amye Dunlop, James Dunlop and John Dunlop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday September 7, 2013, at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753. His cremated remains will rest in the congregation’s memorial garden.
