Joan G. Steen

Joan G. (Brunner) Steen, 84, of Lakewood passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Steen was born in New York City and grew up in Plainfield, NJ. She was a registered nurse and retired from A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, NY. Joan lived for 42 years in East Meadow, NY. She was a member of Holy Hobbies and St. Thomas Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Steen is predeceased by her parents William and Mildred (Smith) Brunner. Joan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arnold, daughters, Wendy Steen of Del Mar, CA and Laura Steen of Royersford, PA, three grandchildren, Peter Mashman and Paige Mashman of Del Mar, CA and Daniel Spencer in the Peace Corps in Mozambique, Africa. Friends may call Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2:30-3 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 3PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
