Joseph Myron Schlesinger

Joseph M. Schlesinger of Lakewood NJ died 9/11/2012. He died peacefully surrounded by those he loved and loved him. Joe loved to cook, watch old movies and play cards and shoot craps but most all Joe loved to be with his family. Joe was born January 7, 1939 in the Bronx, New York but was raised in Perth Amboy, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Sara. He is also survived by his brother Philip, his son Scott and his wife Maria, his son Stuart and his wife Jeannie. He is also survived by his favorite niece Robin Yeager and her husband Robert and his other favorite niece Geri Girard and her husband John and all his favorite grand nieces and nephews Gracie, Jack, Ben and Willie Joe. He attended Perth Amboy High and Rutgers University. Joe was employed at Michealsons Auto Glass in Lakewood where he has been a customer service representative for the past 10 years. His funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Joe will be interred at the Beth Israel Memorial park in Woodbridge, NJ.
