

Joseph V. Taylor Jr. lived a blessed life. Born 17 September 1936 to Joseph V. Taylor Sr. and Josephine (June) Bryda Taylor in Newark, NJ. Raised in Bloomfield, NJ; graduated Bloomfield HS, Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BS in Electronic Engineering and US Naval Reserve Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. Joseph was in everyone’s eyes an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law and friend.
In 1959, Joseph married the love of his life and business partner, Jeanette (Jan) Alice Franck, Livingston NJ and raised two wonderful daughters, Christina Lee and Tracy Noelle. He also leaves behind Jim Ventimiglia (Christina’s husband), Gregg Herzfeld (Tracy’s spouse), four grandchildren - Michael Morris, Michael’s spouse Amanda, Thomas Cucchiara, Nicholas Cucchiara and great grandchild Mya.
Joseph enjoyed all sports especially baseball, basketball, football, tennis, swimming and water sports and sail boat racing. He was a member of the Toms River Yacht Club since 1981, sailing the waters off the East Coast, West Coast, Hawaii and over 14 bare boat cruises in the US & British Virgin Islands. His first boat was a Sunfish, graduated to a Comet 16, Columbia 22, Catalina 27, Pearson 33 (racer) and then a Hunter 42 Center Cockpit sloop. In between were power boats, Century Ski 17 and Sea Ray 23 weekender.
Joseph started working at 14 years old in a Sports and Bike shop; Lipton’s Department Store stock boy; Local A&Ps throughout high school and college; YMCA Counselor, lifeguard and swim instructor. He was active in scouting, two merit badges short of Eagle Scout.
Joseph was initially employed by McKiernan-Terry in Dover, NJ as an electronic engineer supporting RCA & GE radar antenna and USN sonar projects. He moved onto Thiocal Chemical Corp Reaction Motors in Denville, NJ to market products developed by the Research Div Beckman Instruments, Instruments Div Richmond, CA produced a variety of systems and instruments where he moved up to Eastern Regional Sales Manager.
He joined KLS Associates as owner and partner for instrumentation and system sales in the Metro NY/LI/NJ territory which grew to a 10-person agency that dominated the Metro area. TMA was merged with L&M Associates providing another 5 years of technical product sales to major research companies in NJ.
Following L&M, he and Jan Taylor formed Taylor Marketing Associates, designing, marketing, and selling video security systems; high speed video inspection systems for Video Tek and Nice Systems voice recording systems. The voice recording contract was sold to Micro Strategies. Joe and Jan introduced the advanced digital electronic voice recording concept to metro NY/NJ for police, hospital, transport, financial applications plus managed this operation totaling over 15 years. Micro Strategies grew to be the dominant dealer in NJ with over 125 clients.
Instrumentation and system design for food production, medical research and military application are still in use at major companies in the NY and NJ area.
Joe and Jan were very fortunate to be associated with a variety of leading electronic product manufacturers located in the US and overseas. They traveled as a sales team to just about every state in the union as well as Hawaii, British Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, France, and England.
