Louis J. DePrisco, age 85, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026. Born on June 27, 1940, in Brooklyn NY, Louis was a man of quiet strength, whose greatest pride was the loving family he helped build and nurture over eight decades.
Louis was a man who cherished his roles as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara DePrisco. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Jeanette DePrisco (née Valluzzi), with whom he shared many beautiful years. He is also survived by daughters Claire Pidi and her husband, Louis, of Dumont, NJ, and Louise Eitelberg and her husband, Scott, of Hawley, PA.
He will be missed by his stepdaughters, who were an important part of his life, Lisa Alburtus of Bergenfield, NJ, and Susan Warren and her husband, John, of Sherman Oaks, CA.
Louis’s greatest joy was found in his grandchildren. He was the proud grandfather of Matthew Pidi and his wife, Danielle Pidi, Jeanette Pidi and her husband, Joseph Piccirilli, Olivia Pidi Weiss and her husband, Justin Weiss, Jillian Eitelberg and her fiancé, Skylor Galipeau, and Renee Ghanim and her husband, Farris Ghanim.
He was further blessed with two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Yevchak and Amanda Pidi, who brought a special light to his later years.
Louis was also preceded in death by a dear older brother, Robert DePrisco of Pennsylvania.
Louis worked for over 50 years, first as a draftsman and later as a project manager for SWS Industries and Architectural Windows Manufacturing where he was the longest tenured employee of the company.
For the last 15 years, Louis enjoyed a vibrant retirement in Greenbriar Woodlands in Toms River NJ with his wife, Barbara. Together, they built a wonderful life surrounded by dear friends. Louis was a fixture in his community, rarely missing an opportunity to go bowling, attend exercise classes or play a game of dominoes or pool with his buddies. An avid reader and a master of crossword puzzles, he also had an appreciation for good music, especially jazz, and was a devoted fan of the NY Mets and the NJ Devils.
