

and Giuliana Parietti. Louis, known to all as Lou, was the fifth of eleven children. Educated in the Queens, NY school system, he left school at 16 to join the army. As he was too young to serve, he worked at a defense plant for the next two years. In 1945, at the age of 18 he was finally able to enlist. He was stationed in Korea. After service he lived in Japan and Korea. Lou eventually returned to Queens and married Eileen Yada who predeceased him in 1984. They had three children.
Lou later married Edna Hirshenfang with whom he moved to Harrogate in Lakewood, NJ. Edna predeceased him in 2019.
During his career, Lou worked for Hertz Corporation in Manhattan as an investigator which required him to travel the world. While he thoroughly enjoyed his work, he was happy to retire and settle in New Jersey
It was at Harrogate that Lou met Vita Watson. They met through their shared love of music and dancing. Their friendship blossomed into love and soon they were inseparable. They married on December 12, 2021. Louis passed away in the loving arms of his wife on April 18, 2022.
Lou loved to dance and sing along with the songs whether recorded or live. He was a generous soul with a quick wit and a ready smile.
His memorial service will be held at D'Elia Funeral Home in Lakewood on May 21, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. His ashes will be interred at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
Louis was predeceased by his son Gary Louis in 2020. He is survived by his loving wife Vita, his children: Keith Parietti, Ellen Strojan ( Al) and his grandchildren: Ava, Al Jr, Francesca and Julianna.
