Marion Redmond

Marion Redmond, 86, passed away May 27, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. Mrs. Redmond was born and raised in Passaic, NJ as one of ten siblings, before moving to Saddle Brook, NJ where she raised her family before settling in Toms River for the past 23 years. Marion worked for Verizon as a telephone operator for many years. She was a member of the Homestead Run Social and Women’s Clubs and the Red Hats. Mrs. Redmond enjoyed playing bingo, photography, trips to Atlantic City, line dancing and most importantly spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Redmond is predeceased by her first husband Roy Vita Jr., and siblings, Eleanor, Jack, Fred, Trina and Billy. Marion is survived by her husband of 40 years, James, children, Diane Ribustello and her husband Tom, Janice James and her husband Rick, Karen Vita, Colleen Redmond, and Kelley Auerbach and her husband Rich, grandchildren, Rick Jr., Amanda, Maureen, TJ, Tyler and Cory, great grandchildren, Danielle and Nathan, siblings, Agnes, Margaret, Elizabeth and Dorothy, numerous nieces nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 3-7 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 9AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Marion’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or the Children’s Miracle Network.
