

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Michael P. McVeigh, 59, passed away on January 19th, 2026, leaving behind a profound absence in the lives of those who knew him. Born on March 24, 1966, in Plainfield, NJ, Mike was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who brought joy to all who knew him.
Mike was raised in Princeton Junction, NJ, and proudly graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, Class of 1984. He continued his education at Fairfield University and graduated in 1988 with a degree in Business. He worked as a manager and salesperson in several different industries throughout his career, primarily in financial services and technology.
Mike was known for his love of sports (Yankees, Giants and Knicks) and his enduring commitment to the game of basketball, which he played through childhood and well into adulthood. He also had a passion for golf. He played countless rounds with friends and family and in recent years took up caddying.
Mike was a kind and generous soul. He loved spending time with his nephews and nieces. He was a regular attendee at all their sporting events from T-ball through college soccer.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Alice McVeigh; his brother, Tom and his wife, Maria; his sister, Alyssa Newton and her husband, Pat; his adored nieces and nephews, Conor and his wife, Sarah, Garrett and his wife, Shannon, and Ronan, Maeve, Patrick; his great-nephew, Wesley; Gabriela, Daniel, Nick and several cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, New Jersey. A short memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember Mike not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the joy he brought into our lives. His spirit will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love he gave so freely. Rest in peace, dear Mike; you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
