

Norman Donald Johnson, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, with family by his side, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Norman was a lifelong resident of Lakewood and worked for the New Jersey American Water Company for 43 years before his retirement. Norman was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Irene Johnson (White) and his brothers Harvey and Robert. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha, (Morey), his sons David of Lanoka Harbor and Robert and wife Fran of Georgia, his daughters Adrienne of Brick and husband Mark Russell, Lorraine and husband Tony Dentino of Brick, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Norman was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lakewood. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and woodworking and loved listening to music. Norman was a warm, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He served as a wonderful role model for his family. Norman will be greatly missed. A private cremation and burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lakewood will be held for immediate family members. A church memorial service to be held at a later date.
