Robert "Bob" Cloney

Robert “Bob” Cloney, 63, passed away July 13, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. Mr. Cloney was born in Providence, RI, moving to Old Bridge for many years and Freehold before settling in Lakewood for the past 7 years. He is a graduate of the Madison Township High School and a graduate of the Brookdale Community College. Robert worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 20 years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Detroit Lions fan and loved watching movies and enjoyed playing golf. Bob was known for his sense of humor. He was a loving father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and step father and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Cloney is predeceased by his mother Dorothy Cloney and brother, Kevin Cloney. Robert is survived by his daughter Stacey Ago and her husband Alvin, father, Michael R. Cloney, grandchildren, Aiden and Anderson, sister, Diane Szewczyk and her husband Walter, brother, Brian Cloney and his wife Cathy, aunt, Helen Sigismondi, nieces and nephews, Karen and John Isnardi, Laurie and Paul Okaly, Patrick, Travis and Nolan Cloney, several great nieces and nephews, step children, June Ribas, Kim Belek, and Wendy Koonts and their families and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 10-11:30AM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Forest Green Park Cemetery, in Morganville. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Bob’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
