Roberto Cardona

Roberto Cardona, 90, passed away December 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family in Lakewood. Mr. Cardona was born in Puerto Rico moving to New Jersey in 1956. Roberto worked as a laborer for many years at many numerous businesses, for a period he was the grounds keeper for the Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle. He enjoyed doing little projects around the house and reading the bible. Mr. Cardona was a communicant of the Missionary Pentecostal Church of God in Lakewood. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle and will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Cardona is survived by his wife of 58 years Generosa, children, Maribel Martinez and her husband Alberto, Hilda Reyes, Noemi Cardona, Wanda Cardona and her husband Jose Mendoza, Roberto Cardona Jr., Jay Cardona, Annette Sotomayor and her husband Frank and Maria Cardona, 27 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a niece, Blanca Perez, and a nephew, Leonardo Medina.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 4-8pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10AM at the Missionary Pentecostal Church of God in Lakewood. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, in Toms River.
