Rosa Ponce

Rosa spent her early childhood in Arecibo, PR helping her parents on their farm. She came to Freehold, NJ in 1949 at a young age of 20. Rosa found a job working on a farm. Later moved to Freewood acres and settled in Lakewood, NJ for over 60 years.

Rosa was a strong woman. She lived for and loved all her children. She stood strong in raising all of them. She created many family memories with each one of her children. Rosa loved to crochet. She spent much of her free time playing dominos or “Trouble” with her kids whenever they came to visit her, which was very often. She was damn good at it too.

Her spirit was soft and gentle, but yet a very strong woman. There are countless fond memories shared among all that knew and loved her. Especially her children.

Rosa leaves to cherish her memory; four daughters, Ileana Ponce, Evelyn Costales, Sandi Moore and Cynthia Ponce. Nine sons, Jose Fernandez, Roberto, Victor, James, Dennis, Efrain, Raymond, Pedro and Julio Ponce. Rosa is predeceased by her son Bernado Ponce.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 & Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Route 70 & Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. An interment will occur Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:30 AM located at Wood Lawn Cemetery, 1400 Clifton Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
