Rosemary Faughnan

Originally from Brooklyn NY, Rosemary graduated from Saint Brendan’s High School and Kings County Hospital School of Nursing where she became a practicing registered nurse for over 50 years. She began her career as a Respiratory ICU nurse at Kings County Hospital, one of the more challenging positions in that profession. Additionally, she worked at other hospitals, nursing homes, and medical clinics in both New York and New Jersey. She was known for her medical knowledge, compassion, and exceptional patient care.

In early 1977 she met the love of her life Thomas Faughnan (Tommy). They married in May 1978 and were inseparable for almost 48 years. They lived together in Brooklyn until 1983 when they relocated to New Jersey, living in Marlboro for 2 years and later in Jackson for over 30 years before moving to Lakewood in 2016. Together they raised five beautiful children and were blessed with eight grandchildren.

Around 2003 Rosemary and Tommy began to go on cruises and over the course of the next 22 years they cruised 35 times. Rosemary loved sitting on her balcony staring at the ocean, watching the sunset, and spending time in the solarium in the pool and hot tub. She also enjoyed going to casinos.

Rosemary was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She was affectionately known to many as Rary. She had so much wisdom and knowledge to offer and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was taken from us much too soon.

She is survived by her husband, her children Kristen, Brian (Elizabeth), Meghan (Eric), Andrew (Jessica), and her grandkids Brian, Rosemary, Eric, Andrew, Olivia, Emily, Jason, and Audrey, her brother James Morris, and sister Eileen Breen (James). She was predeceased by her oldest child Robert (Bobby) who passed suddenly in 2017.

We all believe that when she passed the first person to meet her on the other side and give her the hug that she was yearning for was her son Bobby. Rest in peace Rary, until we meet again.
