Rosemary Adeline Murphy

Rosemary Adeline Murphy, age 90, formerly of the Fairways section of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the Arbor Terrace Care Center in Roseland, NJ. Rosemary was born on February 10, 1932, in Jersey City, NJ as the daughter of Mary and Joseph Marroccoli. She was raised in Jersey City, and resided in both Livingston, NJ and Lakewood, NJ. She received her BA and MS from Jersey City State University. Rosemary was a mathematics educator for over 33 years with both the Jersey City and Bloomfield public school systems. Rosemary enjoyed swimming and needlepoint. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed both Sudoku and puzzle games. Wife of the late Robert A. Murphy and sister of six late siblings, Rosemary is survived by her children, Jean Marie Murphy and Barbara Ann Murphy-Lalic; three grandchildren, Jeannine, Eileen, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Alexander, Anna, Logan and Emma; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701 with a private committal service following at the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery Mausoleum-Mary Queen of Peace, One Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
