

Russell B. Lindsay Jr., 89, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home in West Windsor, NJ. Russell was born February 7, 1931 in Orange, NJ, to Gladys and Russell B. Lindsay Sr. Russell was an accomplished baseball player and musician at Orange High School and Upsala College. Russell served 32 years in the US Navy Reserves reaching the rank of Chief Petty officer specializing in cryptography. Russell spent his professional life in the construction industry, owning and operating Lindsay Construction and then serving as the construction official for the Townships of Denville, Boonton and West Orange.
Russell was proceeded in death by his wife and love of his life for over 66 years, Florence Lindsay and his brother Hunter Lindsay. Russell is survived by his three sons, Gary and his wife Lois, Russell (III) and his wife Barbara and Fred and his wife Joan. He was known as “Grandpa Russ”, “Grampa” or “Grandpa Lindsay” to eight grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Due to the current pandemic, Russell’s arrangements will be conducted privately with a celebration of his life to be scheduled sometime in the future. He will be laid to rest in his family’s plot in the Restland Memorial Park in E. Hanover, NJ.
