

Salvatore “Sal” Tripoli, 90, of Lakewood passed away Tuesday, August 13 in Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation at Brick with his loving family at his side. Born in Brooklyn, he worked as a carpenter for 37 years. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1946 attaining the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Tripoli moved to Lakewood in 1983. In 1995 he was a Charter Member of the Leisure Village Italian/American Club.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Jeffrey, in 1983. Surviving are his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Fannie (Ciampi) Tripoli; three loving children and their spouses, Angela and Michael Natilli of Hamptonburgg, NY, Frank and Margaret Tripoli of Bayport, NY, and Maryann and Jeffrey Peters of Manhattan; 8 grandchildren, Jean Marie, Patricia, Ralph, Lisa, Frank, Tara, Jessica, and Michael; and 9 great-grandchildren, Justin, Alexa, Isabella, Dylan, Alana, Jack, Connor, Rebecca, and Michael.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday and Monday at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rt. 70 and Vermont Ave., Lakewood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Brick. Entombment will be private.
