

Born in Jersey City, she resided there until retirement from Sterns Department Store in the Newport Mall in 1996. After retiring, she moved to Lakewood in the Original Leisure Village where she held memberships in the St. Mary’s Guild, the Singles Club, and the Irish American Club until her illness.
Veronica was an avid lover of children, music and dance. She will be best remembered for her kindness, generosity and telling funny stories.
Surviving is her son Michael and his wife Ann of Colts Neck; her daughter Teresa Byrnes of Lakewood; and 7 grandchildren: Kristen, Catherine, John Jr., Kelly, Jaclyn, Matthew and MaryKate.
Veronica was predeceased by her husband Jack Byrnes; a son John T. Byrnes; 4 sisters: Genevieve, Florence, Julia and Eileen; and a brother, Edwin.
Friends may call at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Avenue on Sunday from 3-7PM.
